They're more of an area-of-denial threat than anything. But, if they're in an area you want to loot you'll have to wait for them to despawn. Sure, they're very dangerous and can easily kill a survivor, but you almost never need to fight them and can just run away. Just like in the first game, Juggernauts. They're just as easy to kill as the regular zeds, but so much as getting scratched by one will increase your infection meter. It isn't an exploit, either, as the Survivors will yell at the zombies, "Yeah, we have CLEO on our side!" This is invaluable in Lethal mode, since players can now get the best equipment from traders and allies. This earns the player 200 Reputation points. Game-Breaker: If you bring the Haven device to Whitney Field in Meagher Valley, you can have the Announcer Box summon zombies - which Haven will destroy immediately.Funny Moments: A Trade survivor may yell, "LOCK AND LOAD, MOTHERFUCKER! IT'S TIME TO REGULATE!".Not so in Drucker County, where you'll be forced to go on risky scavenging runs from square one to make sure your survivors don't turn on each other immediately. All other maps have your starting base near spots that can be reliably scavenged for meds and ammo (which are scarce and the lack of which may cause your morale to plummet). That said, a fair number of fans were displeased to learn the Trumball Valley is only available in Heartland and not as a vanilla sandbox map - until the Homecoming DLC was released. The home base for the DLC is the Jurassic Junction pit stop that fans wanted to be a base back in SOD1. Namely, there is now an actual storyline which elaborates on what's happened to some of the Trumball Valley survivors, on an updated map of the Valley, and with a higher only difficulty as every zombie is a plague zombie. Author's Saving Throw: The Heartland DLC addresses numerous fan complaints from both the base game and some lingering ones from State of Decay 1.And since he doesn't have a unique appearance, you'll probably kill him without even realizing he was the raider leader. Anticlimax Boss: The raider leader in the Sheriff legacy story gets built up over several quests, but can be killed with a single headshot, just like any other human enemy.
